The fact that an authorisation is issued by the prefecture or police station for the reservation of paying parking places on the public highway never dispenses the holder from paying parking charges, regardless of the reason for occupying public space.
Failure to pay can result in a « classic » parking fine, withdrawal of the measure by the police authority, even a refusal to issue subsequent authorisations.
Sites which host events on a regular basis manner will demand that their clients pay such charges to the Direction de la voirie (Highways department) in order to keep on good terms with their neighbours: local residents who pay for their residential parking permit even though space on the public highway is regularly reserved.
Charges vary according to the zone concerned and time of occupation (consult us for rates). On Sundays and public holidays, parking places are free.
TOTALE RÉGIE provides a service for its clients which involves advancing and paying parking charges to the Direction de la voirie - In contrast, if this service is invoiced, any charges paid are re-invoiced in Euros at cost on an expenses memo separate from the invoice.
